the food is superb, but the people working there have either some serious issues or are just bored by life. I've never met a more inanimate bunch of clerks in my life. they don't speak English or proper Dutch, and they never give out a smile. if there food weren't so good...
Onlike other fast-food restaurants, this one does not feel like you are eating unhealthy. You get a vegetarian pita filled with falafel balls and you can add yourself tomatoes, salad, carrots, cucumber, sauces and a lot more from the salad bar - as you like it. Great, cheap & ideal for students.

A fast-food vegetarian legend, Maoz Vegetarian is all over Amsterdam. This one is a bit small, with minimal seating (5-6 at the most), but it's packed, which means they are constantly refilling their salad bar with fresh ingredients. Also they always have a mixture of dancehall techno or indo-techno remixes on the sound system.
The idea is simple, order a sandwich with some falafel balls in it, then have your way with their 10+ item salad bar, fill all you can, take a few bites, then return to the bar and fill it some more!
Also, as a side grab some of their awesome fries, which are thick, crispy and come with several side sauces (I recommend the tahina).
