    I adore the Brighton Pier!
Make sure to walk up and down the beach, skip rocks, laugh at the silliness of seagulls and then visit the pier with its blinking lights and stalls catering to any and all touristy needs. There are two arcades towards the back of the pier, skip the first one and head on over to the second, less shiny one. You'll find skee ball and many other arcade games for hours of fun, most of the arcades games are even cheap (30 p for a game of pig racing, 5 p for whatever that coin swipe-y game is called.)
The rides (ghost town, swings, trampolines, carousel) are pricey, starting at 3 GBP a ride (you have to buy tokens from machines) and I decided to avoid them.
Most stalls sell awesome seaside candy, like rock, coconut ice and cotton candy.
And for people interested in vintage pier history there are info plates on the railings on either side of the pier. Free deck chairs, bars, wonderful view of Brighton, what's not to love?
