zauner is the "demel" of bad ischl.
if you ever happen to visit bad ischl, visit this place, it's fun. the interior is still original as it used to be at kaiser's times, the waitresses wear white, laced aprons and you feel special. it's not snobby though, since there are mostly tourists. means, you are welcome even though you wear sneakers, no problem.
it's not a cheap place but I think the prices are okay. you can choose from a huge variety of cakes and pastries - not too easy, there are really elaborate creations available! the coffee is really good too!
the typical thing to get there is the "zauner stollen". it doesn't taste overwhelmingly good but it's a nice souvenir.
in summer there's a second place to sit outside, down by the river. very nice! I love to visit every time I come by!

this place is a tiny spot of heaven on earth.
if you've been to paris before, you surely miss all those awesome pastries that you've seen and enjoyed there once you're back in vienna. this is the spot that will make your eyes glitter like in the city of love.
LE MUFFIN is a must-buy! all those cute tiny cakes, and they have eclairs too! so beautiful! almost too pretty to eat. just looking at the shopwindow is an experience.
heaven!!!!!

this is really one of my favourite places in vienna!
the food is more than delicious. the pastries are heaven (check out fruth for this). the employees are totally nice. everything is cute and SO french. sadly it's hard to get a seat outside when it's sunny on weekends. make a reservation if you plan to go there.
but this spot is really - a treasure!

since I live right around the corner, this has to be one of my favourite bakeries.
it's a very cute place indeed, kinda' typically viennese.
this bakery has a restaurant and cafè too. the furishing is very baroque, you feel like at kaiser's times. you can also have nice breakfast and sit outside when it's warm. it's the perfect place to watch old people ;) - cute, cute, cute!
the cakes are delicious!! they have a lot of pastries and I think everything is very fresh. the employees are insanely nice! if you buy something, you often get something for free.
by the way, I think that you get the best "krapfen" at bäckerei schwarz!
only a little pricey. but worth it.
