the place with the best sushi in vienna - I would say so.
or well, at least it used to be. it used to be a family-business. everything was prepared right in front of your eyes, couldn't be any fresher. the sushi was insanely tasty and the service soooo cute and nice.
that restaurant got assumed by someone new though. I haven't been there since the change, but I've heard everything is still very good. you surely get high quality sushi at that place! still, it got a little more expensive.

cute, tiny spot!
food was okay. crêpes are super good! very friendly people! I liked it a lot. it might be hard to get a seat sometimes, since it's so small. but it definitively has flair!

very nice place, quiet and hidden, even though it's right in the first district.
the cafe latte was very, very good! the apple-strudel wasn't excellent, but okay. friendly waiters! I'll come back to taste the food there some time.

this is my favourite place to go with friends!
I spent hours over a coffee with friends, sharing good conversations! I just love that spot. the fitness sandwhich really rocks! and breakfast is so good! and if you asked me - I'd say they have the best cafe latte in town. you get a huge bowl and a lot of frothy milk!!! and it's still not overpriced!
just beware - it's busy.

echo is a cute thai restaurant at a very nice spot in the first district.
in summer you can sit outside and enjoy the beauty of the city, there's the church "maria am gestade" right next to it. even though it's right in the city, you probably won't meet tourists and it's very quiet there, kind of hidden. I'm in love with that area of vienna.
only bad thing - it's expensive. you get good food for your money, so well … I would recommend it, just because it's so nice there. I had fish and curry - which was hot! I think this restaurant is specialised on very hot dishes. there's some kind of rating-system on the menue, that warns you which meals are very hot or just a little hot - there's one dish that's supposed to be SUPERSUPER hot, but I was afraid of taking it. my choice was one of the medium-hot things and still ist was very, very spicey. I turned all red I think ;)

if you like mexican food you're definitifely gonna' love this place!
the food is extremely good! the price is really fair. the dishes are huge! and you get lots of salad to whatever you picked (I'm a veggie-fan, so to me that is a plus).
my favourite meal is the coconut-salad. but I think I've never been able to eat the whole thing, it's just such a huge portion!

this is a nice place to get bio-lunch!
it's vegetarian-only and there's always a vegan choice too. I think, it's become very popular and seems to be quite full of people whenever I pass it at lunchtime. the food was very good, you get to choose from two menues, soups, salads and they have dessert too. you get bread and water for free. there's also a little bio-store inside.
I think it's a cute restaurant. just very small. the employees are extremely nice and courteous.

this is really one of my favourite places in vienna!
the food is more than delicious. the pastries are heaven (check out fruth for this). the employees are totally nice. everything is cute and SO french. sadly it's hard to get a seat outside when it's sunny on weekends. make a reservation if you plan to go there.
but this spot is really - a treasure!

lena & laurenz is a nice "healthy snack"-shop.
the interior is quite trendy and nice. but the food - well, I had a sandwich which tasted okay and a yoghurt with mango which was really, really good. BUT it was too expensive, so I never went back to that place. even though they gave me a coffee for free. still, really overpriced. makes me sad.

this is the perfect place to hang out with your team, working on some project (theyh ave wireless internet) or to chat with a friend you haven't seen in a long time.
the couches are comfortable and you can have a snack. you can also have lunch there, I recommend the lamb - it's really good there (even though I'm not a meat-fan, I like it there).
nice place. only, I agree - the service sucks.

since I live right around the corner, this has to be one of my favourite bakeries.
it's a very cute place indeed, kinda' typically viennese.
this bakery has a restaurant and cafè too. the furishing is very baroque, you feel like at kaiser's times. you can also have nice breakfast and sit outside when it's warm. it's the perfect place to watch old people ;) - cute, cute, cute!
the cakes are delicious!! they have a lot of pastries and I think everything is very fresh. the employees are insanely nice! if you buy something, you often get something for free.
by the way, I think that you get the best "krapfen" at bäckerei schwarz!
only a little pricey. but worth it.

I totally love this spot!
it's a mix of traditional oriental and austrian food. if you asked me - that combination works out pretty well. the atmosphere is really nice. and the food was delicious! they have giant beans with pumpkinseed-oil - one of my favourite dishes!

have you ever had vegetarian meat?
well, at vegetasia you can be sure to get everything but meat, even if it's called "chicken" or "fish". I find that idea quite funny. the food is - okay. I never really loved it but the lunch-buffet is quite cool. fried bananas - as many as you want! yummy!
