I have to admit, I've always had a strange feeling about the Akakiko empire here in Wien.
But that's starting to go away with every visit. The new interior is quite impressive and the food always seems to be hot and freshly-made. Veg-leaning eaters should try the Yasai-Itame if they are looking for a nice dish of crispy tofu in a mild red sauce.
The few times I've been there, the service has always been friendly and quick, which is another pleasant surprise. Also, Summertime is for sitting on the roof and looking down on the sprawling city.

Pinch me I'm in love!
Small (you may want to call ahead and reserve a table if you're more than 2) and inviting, the Bok is a vegetarian dream come true in the 4th district. The mock meat dishes are excellent, differing in flavors from many of the other local vegetasian restaurants and the staff are extremely friendly.
Open until 2200 M-Sat, Bok is the first place in Wien to give me the feeling of sitting on a San Francisco street corner (a good thing).
I highly recommend the veggie lemon crispy duck!

Chang's is a relatively new addition to the Vienna Asian food scene and it seems to be picking up quite nicely.
The restaurants are all designed and furnished very modern, giving it a fresh and hip feel. The food is quite ok, with a few vegan and vegetarian options on the menu.
This is a very busy location being in the middle of Donau City, so you have lots of businessmen, politicians and diplomats hustling through, making it sometimes difficult to actually get a table.

Part of the massive Akakiko / Go Wok / Wozukochen family of restaurants.
Not the most authentic or the tastiest, but, open to 2330 every night and is quite affordable.
They unfortunately do not have the Yasai Itame that's on the Akakiko menu, but, they have several vegetarian options (which are vegan-friendly) and that's nothing to complain about.

Don't worry about the real meat on the menus, cause you can ask for the vegetarian menu which features almost all the same meals prepared blood-free.
The vegetarian General Tso's Chicken was out of control and the service was quick, attentive and extremely inviting to a handful of tourists asking a bunch of annoying questions about their food.

I wouldn't even know where to begin describing my love for Golden Era.
Whenever I'm in town it's one of my immediate stops for amazing veggie/vegan Vietnamese cuisine.
I highly recommend their Sweet & Sour Chicken and their various Claypots.

Quick Chinese takeaway, in cute little boxes.
The food is better than expected for something that looks perfectly geared to fast-food Chinese takeaway. No traditional staples of Americanized-Chinese takeout, such as Kung Pao Chicken or General Tso's, but still the effort in packaging is highly appreciated.
Several vegetarian options, including several lunch menus complete with a big soup and salad, for less than 8 EUR.

Go.
Now. Small, warm and welcoming family-run restaurant, with two of the nicest owners I've ever met, serving some of the tastiest curry I've ever had in Wien. Oh, and finally curries that have some sort of spice and taste to them!
The all you can eat buffet features 5 vegetarian / vegan curries, a giant bucket of rice, all you can grab pappadam, a salad bar and a tasty soup. Fill up your plates, fill up your stomach and have a pleasant and smoke-free experience. It's almost unheard of!
Oh yeah, they also have 3 additional curries with meat in them for you blood mouths.

One of the best Vietnamese in the city (Falter agrees!
) the Saigon caters to vegetarians as well as meat mouths. Their lunch menus are plentiful and quite affordable and their service is always pleasant to interact with. Their attention to detail is outstanding and their fishtanks are always fun to watch while waiting for my vegetable tofu wok to arrive.

Ignore the name and just go!
Sushi King is absolutely one of the best kept secrets for amazing Japanese cooking in Vienna. Their sushi is always fresh and delicious, the service there is always great for me and the owner(?)/chef is one of the kindest gentleman chefs I've ever met in this city.
Often over-shadowed by the trendier spots across the street in the Naschmarkt, Sushi King is a great little family owned restaurant with seating for around 20 people, serving some of the freshest and healthiest authentic Japanese meals in the area. Ignore the major franchises and go local folks.

I have to admit, Yak and Yeti really grew on me.
Their all you can eat is always plentiful and delicious, though on busy Tuesday nights you sometimes have to wait awhile to get your refills. Their waiter is sassy, but always a nice guy when it comes down to it. Lots of vegetarian and vegan options (just ask!).

Food was quite ok, though the vegetarian and vegan options weren't plentiful.
The ingredients were all fresh and tasty and the waiting staff were attentive and often around. I can't speak for the bar, but the restaurant was quite ok.
