The communists sure have style when it comes to coffee and the 7th district.
In the Spring / Summer months they have a lovely schanigarten on Siebensternplatz where you can 'borrow' the WLAN from neighboring Schultz, in true kpö style.
Prices are very reasonable and if you're into discussing politics and don't like leaving the 7th district, 7Stern is where you should be.

Cafe C.
I. is a legend in the 16th, offering an all-day breakfast menu, a few vegetarian options, affordable coffee and a lovely, but always full, schanigarten in the spring/summer months.
C.I. also goes one step further, offering their neighbors German integration and language courses, beat that.

Very nice!
I had been hearing good things about Die Burgermeister for awhile now and finally had the chance to visit! The atmosphere is quite nice, clean and warm. Soundtrack is great (Jim O'Rourke was playing when I was there) and they have over 30 types of beers from around the world waiting for you beer junkies.
The smoke tofu burger was great, juicy, thick and they used a great ketchup. It would be excellent if they had a soy cheese, but I'm not going to ask for the World here.
Overall, pleasant, not *too* pricey and the food was great. A+++ would recommend.

Vienna's most famous nightclub, known for it's extremely insane sound system.
Live bands of all genres, world famous and not so famous DJ nights, lots of drunk and obnoxious tourists and sticky floors. Great place to see live bands when you're not looking for that intimate crowd experience. Sometimes a bit hard to get into (or go near) and they sometimes pack a live show together with an odd DJ night, forcing people to pay/enter, watch live show, exit, pay/enter, dance at the DJ event.

Super Mexican restaurant near the heart of Antwerp.
Small, with room for around 20, which only makes it even more interesting. Decorated like an old Mexican hut, with lots of pastels, sombreros and candles.
The food was excellent! Authentic Mexican dishes, from tacos to burritos to quesadillas and more. Huge order of chips and salsa for around EUR 1,50 and one order of tacos is more than enough to fill you up and leave you extras to bring home.
They also went out of their way to make a vegetarian dish vegan for me, with no problems, hesitations or dirty looks.

Small but nice bar, cafe, club near Mariahilferstrasse.
The location of many nice parties and DJ sets from Wien's finest. Great music on the sound system, sometimes there are football games beamed on the wall, sometimes you get some abstract film about floating leaves on a stormy day.
You can also order food from Sushi Bar Mono nextdoor to be delivered to your table!

Traditional Austrian recipes created vegetarian and vegan?
Yes please! Rupp's is a special place, it looks like a traditional Irish pub, dark, smokey, with lot's of rock and folk on the stereo. Not someplace you'd think would feature some of the best vegetarian and vegan cooking in Vienna.
The menu is 100% vegetarian and mostly vegan (everything is marked). Their vegan schnitzel is legendary and deserving of the praise and their vegan goulash is to die for.
For those looking for a little alcohol, Rupp's is the spot. In addition to having a ton of beer and cider in bottles or on tap, they also offer 455 different types of whiskey. Yes, you read that correctly, over 455 different types of whiskey. Kiss your liver goodbye.
If you're with a larger group, it might be a good idea to reserve a table ahead of time. In the later evenings it's impossible to get a table if you don't want to share one.

Since 1969 The Milestone has been Charlotte's connection for underground music.
Constantly shaping and reshaping itself under different owners, the stone has brought some of the most obscure punk, hardcore and noise to the sleepy Queen City and I've loved every minute of it.
From Fugazi to Texas is the Reason, much of my time growing up in and around Charlotte was spent in the Milestone. Let's hope it lasts another 38 years.
