The Blue Box is one of Vienna's hidden pop culture treasures.
Next time you're watching Falco's 'Amadeus' video, keep an eye out for the scene where a bunch of burly biker dudes are sitting around a bar-like area, that's the Blue Box!
Vegetarian meals, ok prices and sometimes has DJs spinning tolerable music at a tolerable volume level. Their vegetarian and vegan menus are sometimes hit and miss, but, usually a hit. Same for their waiting staff, who I must sadly admit are usually a miss.

Ultra stylish 50ies style interior, usually pleasant service, Brazilian jazz and Boards of Canada on the sound system, what better place to have a cheap cup of coffee and surf the net?

Excellent vegetarian and vegan cafe!
The vegan breakfast / brunch offers are amazing, with your choice of whole wheat pancake, a variety of breakfast 'meats' and a great pepper-filled tofu scramble with garlic-roasted potatoes as a side. Their lunch and dinner options for veggies are just as great, especially their barbecue burgers and various sandwiches.
The staff are all extremely friendly, helpful and colorfully dressed in their saris. Highly recommended for any veggie / vegan who happens to be trapped in the suburbs of Tampa.

One of San Fran's best vegetarian secrets and also one of the worst-kept from the looks of all the awards they win every year.
The herbivore is ready to explode with vegetarian and vegan goodness, from huge tofu, tempeh and seitan sandwiches to a thick veggie burger, you can't go wrong from appetizer down to dessert.
The staff were all extremely helpful and didn't laugh as I an my vegan travelers ordered enough vegan food to feed an army and were even nice enough to call us a cab while we finished our cookie.

St.
Josef is my absolute favorite restaurant in Vienna. As Wolfgang D. says, the service is absolutely caring, the food always fresh and the atmosphere always warm and welcoming. The staff are wonderful, usually remembering you on your next visit.
A bit pricey, but well well worth it. Their schnitzel burgers are famous for being a great takeaway snack. Their salad bar is off the chain, featuring tons of extremely fresh salads and healthy dishes to pile onto your plate.
Also, their store is connected to their restaurant, so, all you have to do is eat a nice meal, pay (you can even pay AFTER you eat, how's that for respecting your clientèle?) , then walk over to the store and buy what you need for dinner. I'd give it 6-stars if I could!
