The An-Do is one of Yppenplatz's main arteries for stylish eating in the up and coming area of teh 16th.
The employees are extremely nice, attentive and usually remember you after a few trips. All of the meals use extremely fresh ingredients and there are quite a few vegetarian and possibly some vegan options as well. Their tofu sandwiches are less than 3 EUR and one of the tastiest I've ever had.
DJ and live music events occur in the back room, which I think used to be an old meat-locker, only instead of slabs of beef hanging out, there is now trendy artwork from local Vienna artists.

The Blue Box is one of Vienna's hidden pop culture treasures.
Next time you're watching Falco's 'Amadeus' video, keep an eye out for the scene where a bunch of burly biker dudes are sitting around a bar-like area, that's the Blue Box!
Vegetarian meals, ok prices and sometimes has DJs spinning tolerable music at a tolerable volume level. Their vegetarian and vegan menus are sometimes hit and miss, but, usually a hit. Same for their waiting staff, who I must sadly admit are usually a miss.

Vienna's most famous nightclub, known for it's extremely insane sound system.
Live bands of all genres, world famous and not so famous DJ nights, lots of drunk and obnoxious tourists and sticky floors. Great place to see live bands when you're not looking for that intimate crowd experience. Sometimes a bit hard to get into (or go near) and they sometimes pack a live show together with an odd DJ night, forcing people to pay/enter, watch live show, exit, pay/enter, dance at the DJ event.

Before I ended up working full-time x2 the Deli was where anyone could find me.
Their hummus is 9 times out of 10 absolutely perfect and their all you can eat bread policy is a damn good one. The addition of a falafel wrap to their menu was a brilliant one and for the price, it's a monster deal which could almost feed 2 people if you're counting the salad and all the lovely grease pouring off of it. There are quite a few vegan options and even more vegetarian ones, so, those preferring no meat need not worry.
The atmosphere is of course Naschmarkt, it's usually hit or miss, depending on if there's a hip music festival going on or not or if some hip DJ is spinning at another location.
The service is also a bit hit or miss, sometimes you've got an extremely nice waiter/tress who is one step below Mother Theresa or the Pope, the other time you have an aspiring actress/model who thinks you should be photographing her while she's conveniently ignoring your need for a refill of bread.

Rhiz is without a doubt the best club in Vienna to have a drink with friends AND discover new and obscure electronic artists and DJs.
The sound system is intense for such a small room, so remember to bring your earplugs if you're going to see a noise show. The service is great, with all the waiters and waitresses being super cool and surprisingly pleasant. I say surprisingly because they are on the Gürtel, so I'm sure they have their fair share of the insane walking in and out.
Rhiz is also a longtime supporter of advanced technology, offering live streaming audio and video over the internet, probably before most of us even knew it were possible.
