A diamond in the rough on Neubaugasse!
Ellie is charming and welcoming to all of her guests, taking the time to get to know everyone who walks in. The interior is small, but extremely warm, making for an almost perfect environment to sit down, grab a sandwich and enjoy a nice Soy Latte on a slow afternoon.

ETAP is another mega-Turkish restaurant, with seating for well over a hundred and a waiting staff that are always around when you need something.
Their falafel sandwich is great, filled with hummus and fresh salad and smoking hot falafels. Portions are pretty great, so expect a full stomach after you're done.

Definitely one of my favorite spots to visit when I'm in NYC.
From the greasy onion rings to their mock burgers, wings and brunch.
Definitely a haven for the scenester type, be prepared sometimes for a long wait or even a forgetful waiter with very fashionable hair. But don't worry, the food totally makes up for it and if it's greasy vegan comfort food you're looking for, you're at home at Kate's Joint.

Cheap and filling falafel sandwiches and salads, with a little extra grease.
Super affordable and quick falafel sandwiches and fries to go, or to eat in, bar-style at the 5 or 6 seats available. The location is a bit cramped, with just that little bit of trashy fast-food joint feel you usually get on the streets of New York. Lots of vegan options, including the legendary Maoz all you can fill buffet.

Maschu is famous in Vienna for it's takeaway falafel sandwich.
Maschu stuffs their falafel sandwiches full of tahini, falafel, veggies (including kraut) and various sauces, all for less than 3,50 EUR each. They have quite a few vegetarian and vegan options in addition to their falafel sandwich (try their hummus!) and their prices are pretty reasonable (but getting higher every 6 months it seems).
Their service is a bit lacking sometimes, so if it looks busy and you actually want some service, it's probably better for you to turn around and head somewhere else

Maybe not the first, but certainly one of the best vegan fast food joints in Vienna.
Their burgers are juicy and Samolis certainly grills up one of the best vegan cheeseburgers I've had in Europe. Their burger combo (vegan cheeseburger + bottled drink + amazing pommes for 6 EUR) can't be beat.
The interior is a bit small with room for around 8 people to sit and eat and the lighting could be a bit softer, but, overall, Sam and Oli put their hearts into their shop and are happily filling the bellies of Vienna's veg-heads.
