Friendly and knowledgeable staff.

Great selection, not only world cinema, documentaries, short films, music DVDs, and blockbusters but also any TV series you could possibly think of. Who needs cable when you got Alphaville?

Just bought Christmas Crackers for my nieces (I know it's mid-October but better safe than sorry...

), Teabags for my dad, Horlicks for my mum and of course a huge pack of Weetabix for me and my better half. They even have English Greeting cards now which is great for the holidays if you've got Family abroad.

Traditional Austrian cuisine.

Lots of bang for your buck, meaning huge portions. They've got their own version of a beer-bong (without the hose and funnel of course) which might entertain an easily-impressed foreigner. An ok place for hungry people who like beer and understand the metric system.

Bester Hofer in Wien?

Closed Mr. T's Painthouse
Margaretenstraße 20
1040 Vienna

Reviewed 17. Oct 2008

Bringing Sexy Back...

Opening Hours: Di-Fr 16-19 Uhr
Einfach mal auf einen enstpannten Kaffee vorbeischauen :)

Great place for that after-work beer and to hang out with your friends.

The food is nice too and reasonably priced. Cosy little place, friendly waiters, highly recommended.

We usually go there for breakfast (baked beans!

) which you can get until 5 in the afternoon. Waiters are usually friendly. Sitting outside can get noisy during the summer months. POS is more your traditional diner/cafe than a bar so it's usually most crowded on weekends and during lunchtime, not so much in the evenings though.

Closed The Four Bells Irish Pub
Schleifmühlgasse 2
1040 Vienna

Reviewed 21. Oct 2008

My favorite Irish Pub in the 4th district.

Music ranges from Tenacious D to Led Zeppelin to Britpop. Their playlist is always a surprise. Lots of TVs if you're into Soccer. Quiz Night on Mondays (bring up to 5 friends to join your team and win free drinks or cold hard cash).
Downstairs you'll find the "dance club". It's called Floyd's and we booked the whole club for a B-day party once. One of the nicest bartenders in town. They could have used a better DJ though who wouldn't even bother to take requests from the birthday girls.
The food is above average for a pub, prices are moderate except for those import beers of course. Staff has always been friendly and there are no long waits once you order.

Seriously. Those guys turn Hot-Dogs into Haute-Cuisine. Maybe they should call them Haute-Dogs? Seems like they're open all night til 4 am or something.
