One of a very few kosher restaurants in Vienna, Bahur Tov offers a number of excellent Israeli meze: falafel, humus, hazilim, home made pickles etc.
as well as a variety of kebabs - including rather exotic ones like heart or testicles.

Finally a place serving good green tea in Vienna!
I especially recommend the gyokuro shuppin with its intense and wonderfully fresh flavour.
Oh, and they have a good range of onigiri and Japanese sweets like daifuku - ideal for those who (like me) can't digest lactose and have to look for non-dairy-based sweets.

Great Sri Lankan food.
Idli, Hoppers, and rice served with sambar and all kinds of curries. As an added bonus, you can order the dishes "originalscharf", i.e. as hot as in Sri Lanka. Definitely recommended to all capsaizine junkies like myself.

The cheap outward appearance and rather strange name ('Pizzastandl') serve to disguise a place where you can dine on surprisingly good Styrian-Italian cuisine.

Nice and cosy place offering a variety of draught beers, a great selection of spirits (from Cuban rum to ice cold Polish vodka) and ok food.

I have to admit that although I adore traditional Viêtnamese and Laotian food, I feel uncomfortable about its Europeanised, modernised, fancy-shmancy variety.
Decidedly not my favourite, however impeccable the service may be.

Nice Nepalese restaurant in the heart of Truro.
Extremely friendly and welcoming staff - if you don't want to chat with the owner but prefer a cold and efficient atmosphere, this may not be the right place for you though.
Food is quite good, with the one caveat that most of the dishes on the menu are not in fact Nepalese but pretty standard Anglo-Indian fare, although very well done. I'd definitely recommend going for the real deal, i.e. the Nepalese dishes with their characteristic mixture of the tastes of lime, onion, coriander, chili, and masala.

Good and authentic sushi with free green tea - just as it should be.
Many Japanese customers seem to agree. This is where I usually go to get my fix of fresh raw fish.

Having spent four summers in a row in Japan in the late 1990s, I never got rid of a very strong craving for authentic Japanese food.
Kuishimbo is a place where I can finally get unadulterated Izakaya fare with a Southern Japanese twist: Okonomiyaki from Hiroshima, Kasutera from Kyushu (a 15th century Portuguese influence) and many more delights. This is the real thing, not the usual, in-flight menu style pan-Asian fusion crap many Viennese seem to love. If you are looking for a recommendation and have no objections against raw squid, then try the Ika-Natto. It is heavenly.

Unbedingte Empfehlung!

Good but quite expensive.
One of a very few places in Vienna where Breton style seafood pyramids (lobster, crab, shrimps, oysters etc.) are served.

My favourite place in Truro...
a cool bar and seafood-centred brasserie in a defunct chapel. Great food, good wine, strong coffee, unobtrusive lounge music during the day, a few tables outside for sunny days (although you'd miss out on the design of the place!) not expensive - especially not at lunchtime. Oh, and free WLAN as well.

If you need fresh African or Asian ingredients (some of which are rather rare to come by in Vienna), this is the place you want to shop at.
They also hold regular cooking classes hosted by trained cooks from different immigrant groups.

A great brasserie style place, featuring contemporary Cornish cuisine with a slight French/mediterranean twist.
Definitely recommended to everybody who - like me - has less than fond memories of 1980s British cuisine (you know, the time when you got bland, industrially produced grub almost everywhere) and wants to experience just how much it has changed for the better since then. Saffron's chef proves that the cuisine of Cornwall can easily be on par with that of its sister country, Brittany.

What makes this small restaurant special becomes apparent once you leave aside the so-so Japanese part of the menu and focus on what makes it popular with Korean expats in Vienna.
I'd personally recommend sharing Bulgogi, Bulgalbi, and a selection of Kimchis with a number of friends.

Georgian-Russian restaurant.
The Russian dishes are okay, but the Georgian part of the menu is where it gets really interesting: Khatchapuri, Tabaka, and wonderful home made Khinkali.

Delicious, authentic Mexican food.
Home made tortillas, really spicy salsas, rare delicacies like Cuitlacoche and... and... and. All in all lots of things you do not normally expect in Vienna, where "Mexican" restaurants are typically low-quality Tex-Mex joints run by people who have never been to Mexico.

One of the better Vietnamese places in Vienna.
Recommendation: ignore the 1970s China kitsch decor and the Chinese and "Thai" parts of the menu. The Vietnamese food is really good, on par with what they serve at the Saigon in the 16th district. Very nice (if tiny) garden directly adjacent to a quiet park.

Nein, danke.
