been there for lunch today the buffet is more or less standard (starters, deserts and sushi) it's nice that you can "create" your own dish by choosing from a variety of vegetables and meat/seafood/fish and add one out of 8 sauces and give your plate to the cook and he'll prepare it in front of you all in all it's good but nothing outstanding besides the "live cooking" effect ...
but this had no effect on the taste ;)
the price at lunch is € 8,5 and that's still ok but for dinner they charge € 13,50 which is far too much i'd say
and yes, the waiters aren't the friendliest ones, but i let them feel this with my 10 cent tip :P

This place is THE cocktail bar in Vienna!
All the cocktails cost 9-10 € but they are worth every cent. We went there to have one cocktail, but the first one was so good that we had three more. The variety is incredible. It would take you about an hour to read through the whole menu of drinks. Hundreds of cocktails, whiskeys, vodkas, tequillas etc.
To get a feeling for the great ambience of the bar check out the pictures on the homepage.
All I can say is that I had a great night yesterday and will for sure go there again very soon!

a biiig more noble wirtshaus i'd say food is very good (the knoblauchcremesuppe rules it all, if not the best i ever had) but also quite expensive nothing bad to say about service in the end this place is made only for mass processing of people ;) therefore and the prices only 3 stars

a very nice and stylish place, the bar itself looks amazing i had a beef steak toast for 9,9€ and it was great, well, the steak was great, the side salad and the chips were not so tasty but still all in all i really enjoyed that meal, and the price was ok after that i had a glass of white wine (sauvignon blanc) for 3,8€ and god damnit, it was worth it, by just having a look at the wine card i can say that they serve really good wine there.
if you are into wine, you can definitely go there.
UPDATE: been there today and checked out the red wines, still, the selection is great, but the experience today wasn't. the first wine i had came in an unpolished glass and the second one was cold .. cold red wine ... come on ...
had no time to check out the cocktails, but i'll go there next week sunday again as they have happy hour the whole day (4,5€ for a cocktail)
UPDATE: i had my cocktailbar test cocktail which is a tequilla sunrise, easy to make, but perfect to measure the barkeepers mixing skills. there was no real "sunrise" and it just tasted like orange juice ... sour orange juice
to sum up .. i liked the place and i can say for sure that it's worth going there and check it out
UPDATE: i would deduct a star according to my updates, but i keep my reccomodation to check the place out, as i will still go there to and it's stays worth a look because i still had a nice evening =)

been there yesterday for a birthday party quite a nice place, they have really comfortable chairs and couches there i had a glass of red wine which was very good, though for 3,8 € a bit overprized.
the cocktails were not brilliant but good.
they had a dj there which was playing electronical (lounge) music. not enough for dancing, but still bumpy enough too keep you awake ;)
none of us ate anything so i can't judge the food
i'd like to give the bar 2,5 stars, because it really had no big minuses or pluses ... average place to go, 3 stars though because of the very comfortable couches ;)

my favorite all you can eat buffet chinese restaurant.
they don't serve anything you won't see in another chinese buffet but the main diffrence is that everything tastes really good! =)
there's always a lot of people there, just another good sign i'd say ;)
my all time favorite chinese dish is the szechuan chicken. usually it lacks of spicyness but at duft you need a big drink to cool down your mouth ^^ just the sushi is not really good, but hey, you also don't go to a pizzeria to have a steak. just stick to the great chinese food!
nothing special to mention about the interior, it looks like any other chinese restaurant inside (dragons, chinese paintings etc.). service is also not worth mentioning, but with that food they serve they really don't have to care about. anyways .. if you're hungry you can really eat a lot of good chinese food there for 8€ per person.

as i grew up in this area, and there is this old discussion that always was and will always be there ...
gavaz or tichy? for me there is only gavaz, as i can't stand tichy (sweet and tasteless ice cream)
there were times, when i've been there every day the whole summer =)
best lemon ice cream, incredible cinnamon ice cream and my all time favorite will always be schoko-banane ;) everything there tastes soo fruity and real, that for me there is no better place to go and get an ice cream! try it out yourself, you won't be disappointed!

what should i say ...
i think wow is the best word to describe it =)
been there yesterday with two friends of mine and we were all very happy afterwards!
simple interior, super friendly service, very nice to sit outside as it's quite a silent part of the esterhazygasse.
but now let's talk about the food we had :)
i had a "tafelspitzbouillon mit frittaten" and a "gemischter grüner salat mit hühnerbruststreifen in kürbiskernpanier". the soup was one of the best i've ever had. the salad was fresh, the meat perfect and the cook put a lot, and i mean a lot, of "kernöl" .. what i refer to as the black gold! ^^
my friends had a "chili sin carne" and the "blutwurstgröstl". of course i tried their dishes too ;) the chili really tasted like you would expect a chili to be, and it was quite hot. despite the fact that i'm not a great blutwurst fan ... wow, it was good. My friend really enjoyed it too as he likes blutwurst ... no he's not a vampire :P
thanks to priskas review below and the recommendation of the "Schokogateaux auf Beerenbett" we went for it and shared the desert .. again .. it was great! fresh berries and the cake itself were perfect. i'm not so much into chocholate, but that showed me that i should change my opinion ;)
all dishes were nicely presented and just by looking at it we knew .. that's gonna be tasty!
as already mentionend the menu is small, but i think everyone will find something. you could say it's a bit pricy though, as the main dishes range from around 8€ to 16€. for me this is never an issue, as quality has it's price. and trust me, you will for sure get something that is worth your money ;)
i really enjoyed my stay there and will go there again very very soon =D

been there last week Saturday to have breakfast there.
they offer on Saturdays and Sundays breakfast from ten to five in the afternoon on an all-you-can-eat base for 10€
you have these little sheets of paper on each table where you just mark what you want and you can re-order as often as you want. fresh pastry included too of course.
you can choose from ham, bacon, marmelade, honey, several kinds of teas, coffee, ham & eggs, cereals and yoghurt and i think i forgot something ;)
their kitchen is right in the middle of the cafe/restaurant so the good smell of fresh food was all around.
we really enjoyed our 5 hour breakfast. a slight minus was the furniture .. as the chairs weren't too comfortabel.
i checked the rest of the menu and i have to go there again to see how good the cook really is.
a big plus they get from me because the have "Murauer" on tap, which for me is one of the best beers of all time. those who know it will agree ;)

as my office is just across the street we've been there a couple of times for a beer after work as mentioned by the others this place is huge, as huge as the prices ...
eating there can cost you easily around 13€, without drinks!!
as a friend of mine is working there, and he always was when i went there, i can't really say anything about the service
the interior is really creative ... but more like wanna-be-creative
i wouldn't count myself in for the target group of this bar ;)

i haven't been to this place for quite a while since today.
i spent a lot of time there when i was younger, and it's good that nothing changed since then.
to me it's one of the most original pubs in vienna. big burgers, baskets, good lager beer and of course only native english/irish bartenders. as far as i remember, and please correct me if i'm wrong, it was also one the first pubs with a regular pub quiz before it all started to get epidemic and now every freakin' bar thinks they need to have a quiz night ....
it's kinda small, but other's would call it cosy. still it sometimes can be hard to find a place to sit, but come on ... the cool guys always stand at the bar anyways ;)

no mexican love ....
been there yesterday with a couple of friends and we were all very disappointed. the only good thing about that place was the interior. everything looks very stylish and they play (oh surprise) salsa music. oh, and the selection of tequila they serve was also fine
but ... the cocktails ... oh my god, it was the worst planters punch i ever drank in my life, and i had to pay 8€ for it. same reactions from my friends (none of us finished his cocktail). we came to the point, that if you look up the recipe somewhere and mix it yourself, it just can get better. about the food i can't say anything special, but the chili i had was quite boring. all in all we agreed, that this is not the right place to eat mexican food.
the waiter was quite cocky, and it took him quite some time to get our drinks. then we had 3 drinks on our bill we didn't have and got into a discussion with him ....
maybe i've just been there the wrong day, but i can't suggest anyone to go there ...

been there a couple of times now with my flatmate as we live around the corner, and i usually have the falafel teller or plate depending on how hungry i am ;) the falafel itself is very good, you get 4 diffrent types of salad, some humus and this red whatever thingy i dont now what it is :) when it's warm it's great to sit outside, as there are not so many cars passing by.
sitting inside i don't really mind, and i never had the feeling that my clothes smelled like falafel afterwards (though my burps did).
the service is a good example for this sort of "overun" restaurants. people will still go there and get a falafel because they like it so much, i think that's why they don't really care about the service. the Café Latte would be another good example - shitty service, but it's always hard to find a table there.
in the end i'd say it's worth checking the place out, especially when you're into falafel ;)

for such a quick take away store i really like it i never had any bad experience with the staff, they were always friendly and nice too look at ..
well, when you're a man ;)
you really get a lot of pasta for the price, but i would go for the ciabattas. they heat them up in 30 seconds and they really taste good and the price is around 2,6 to 2,9 which is ok
i once tried the tomato soup and that you really shouldn't take, because it's not really a soup, more like a sauce and wasn't good at all

A friend of mine started working there recently so I went there to visit him and check out the place.
It's a quite stylish café with a lots of books that you can read and buy. They don't offer a lot of food but what i had was very good. The Roggentoast was one of the best toasts i ever had. The falafel they get directly from naschmarkt and it was good as well. The chocolate/cherry cake i had afterwards was fresh and yummy =)
If you want to go somewhere to relax a bit and read a book, i strongly recommend going there.

but i really can't see anything special about that place, for me it's just an average asian restaurant ...

been there last week at a birthday party in the disco in the cellar.
i know the pub for quite a long time, meaning when it was called McAdams and not Four Bells ... for those who remember ;)
the pub actually is really nice, they play good music there and serve good beer!
the disco down stairs is the complete opposite. the name's floyds. it's like one of these wanna-be fancy lounge clubs but very small. it was house and r´n´b night, two music styles i like as much as i like being hit in the face :P
still we had a good time, we were just unlucky with the waiter who was a complete asshole! the bouncer told me that it was his first and last night working here ;)
4 stars for the pub, 3 for the disco
