This place totally caught me by surprise.
I quickly fell in love with the interior, and the food was quite excellent too. I had the Erdäpfelsuppe which was delicious, and the Schnitzel which was as perfect as I could imagine it.
The owner seems to be one of the more original ladies in Vienna. I found her quite charming.

The burger was quite delicious, but the rest of the experience was a bit disappointing.
No fries? That's kind of an important part of the burger experience for me...
But it's a new place, they'll probably need a bit more time to iron out the kinks.

This place has a certain congeniality to it, something that is hard to find.
An interesting selection of food and drinks, and a corner with old games. Fancy a round of "Schwarzer Peter" or "Vier Gewinnt" late at night?
Also featuring retro (i.e. old) decor!

The most innovative menu, the most relaxing atmosphere.
The very best rolls/bread. Everything I ever ate there was delicious. Be sure to call for reservation, it's a tiny place and usually full.

I had the most excellent brisket there.

Trashy, old-school Viennese "Beisl".
Very traditional, excellent food, unbeatable prices. Best to come in the summer, and sit outside (trust me, it's better to avoid the inside :). Expect having to sit on one table with other people (it's often crowded, especially for lunch).

Simply the best and cheapest Schnitzel in the TU vicinity.
Usually crowded during lunch time, with a small Schanigarten.

I really like the Risotto con pollo e pesto there.
And the bread. And the free WLAN hotspot. And the interior. Not so much the waiters.

Marqt is a new concept-store, where you can get a wide selection of groceries, delivered directly from local farmers.
It's has the quality products you'd expect from an organic market, but the streamlined experience of a modern store, which means no cash, only PIN.
It's quite clear that the people running Marqt spend as much attention to presentation and experience as to the excellent food they offer.
The bread, which is produced and baked on location is especially excellent.
In the end, you'll probably leave with more than you initially planned to buy, but you won't regret it.
One can only hope that the concept is successful and that more locations are going to be added.

I can't go past this place without getting a Pita Kip.
The owner make samples available, so people can smell and taste the juicy chicken filet when they go by. It's very hard to resist the perfectly crispy meat.

You can spend some money on delicious Italian cuisine at the D'Lounge, or feast at the KFC downstairs for pennies.
Excellent!

I'm not sure if there is any better italian restaurant (think: no Pizza!
) in this price range in Vienna. In the summer it's great to sit outside and watch the kids playing on the square. The menu is extensive and the food excellent. Also the waiters are usually quite friendly.

Fun for both small and big children.
There are lots of things to learn and exciting experiments to try. Great view from the roof terrace!

The only bad things about this place are that the seating is not really comfortable, and that it's "niet gezellig".
But the food is excellent, and the waiters are usually very friendly (and only slightly annoying).
