Possibly the friendliest staff in the city, the single food sampling I had so far was great.
The kindergarten size table pressed a bit too hard against my knees, though.

This is a nice place.
A completely typical Wiener Kafeehaus. The waiters are on top of things, and there is always a nice little corner seat to sit in and read a book or write in a notebook, like a true nerd.
Their pastry is kind of not so good, but oh well.

The main attraction of this place for me is the fact that it is not ridiculously crowded in the afternoons like the swanky places in the first, and that it is close to where I live.
In addition, their coffee is excellent. The waiters are reasonably well pretending that they don't hate you, and the smoke is not too bad.

From the outside it looks generic, on the inside it is full of charm.
It also has a very cozy and stylish seating space in the basement. Their apfelstrudel is amazing.
Beware though: If the (apparently french) owner starts liking you too much, she will start to peck your cheek and pat your belly...

Had a decent small mocca there, with one of those vegan caramel cookies.
Menu seems full of traditional stuff, if you are into that. Staff seems friendly, too.

I can't believe how run down this place looks these days.
It used to be my goto cafe in my younger years, now it seems to be a smoke filled and uncomfortable place filled with annoying people. At least in the evening. The food is good though.

This is THE place for ice cream in Vienna!
Not only is the ice cream delicious, but the service is most excellent. No matter how busy the place, your order will arrive within minutes. They have an outdoors heating system, which makes it possible to eat ice cream in winter, sitting outside. It doesn't get better than that.
