Figlmüller is known for their Schnitzel.

They are huge, thin, and very tasty. If you want to overeat on meat, this is the place to be. Just remember, it is not good for you, don't do it too often :)
There are two Figlmüller's in Vienna, and in this one, I had to watch one of the waiters making a few snide and racist comments about "what he is seeing on the streets these days" to some guests. It made me feel a bit less cozy and the schnitzel became less tasty.

This is basically the more posh and polished version of "Figlmüller 1".

The food is really equivalent. No complaints about racist waiters there.
For both Figlmüller's it is vitally important to reserve if you intend to eat at peak times at noon or evening.

Ah the good old Schnitzelwirt.

As students, this was an indispensable resource for a high food/money ratio and we stuffed our faces there with Schnitzel and their otherworldly "Cordon" many a times.
Though known for its huge Schnitzel servings, oddly the quality of their Schnitzel has declined over the years in my opinion. Still, this is another one of those places for your annual overeating frenzy, as not only is their Schnitzel huge, their Cordon Bleu is just inhuman. Not to mention the infamous "Filet Don Carlos".
The staff is friendly enough most of the time, but very short. I once saw someone got kicked out by the owner himself, because he complained about his gulasch. I think he was rude to one of the waitresses as well, though.

Ah, Schnitzel how I long for thee, but alas our days together are over.

If you are still into Schnitzel, at this place you will get the biggest and bestest in that neck of the woods. Expect the charm of the countryside, though, for better or for worse.

A very traditional place run by two ladies who will unflinchingly call you by austrian cutsie names and serve you one of the biggest schnitzels you can get in this town.

If you are into that kind of thing.
