The restaurant World is unique.

It does not serve the usual standard food, but rather concentrates on Caribbean/Asian/Ayurvedish dishes, 99% of them comprising various curries, the rest consisting of rice and papadam-bread-thingies.

World mainly offers an all-you-can-eat buffet (6 to 8 curries, rice, papadam, soup and a salad-bar) as well as one dish of the menu (i.e. the Kings Plate which I have not seen in real life though).

The curries are all heavily Caribbean-styled; there is no Indian curry or anything that would make you think of standard Asian food.

Some of the curries reminded me of "Yak+Yeti", i.e. a Nepalese/Tibetan restaurant; some of the Sri Lanka restaurant "Curry Isle"

All curries were tasty indeed. However, they were a bit to mild for my taste (even though spiced up with spicy sauce that equally was available).

The buffet charge is EUR 7,40. That is very cheap, especially for what you get!

A large beer costs 2,90. Again this is cheap.

The atmosphere is quite shallow; World comes equipped with standard more-or-less ikea furniture, but it has a nice but very very small Cuban-style bar with two bar-chairs as a highlight.

Outside seating available.

Really friendly staff/owner, apparently from the Caribbean.

All in all, Restaurant World is a nice place; if you a re in the neighborhood, give it a try, especially if you are backpacking in/through Vienna an look for a good bang for your buck.

However, its not the real "Go there now or you'll miss life" location as indicated by Mike below.
