If ever you want excellent Mediterranean food, this is the place to be.

Granted, you gotta love fish and seafood, but you'd be a fool not to! Cozy little spot (8 tables) in the Spittelberg area, this place has the most charming host, and an overly gifted chef. The menus change daily - depending on what's in fresh - and surprise with interesting flavors. We had a scallop and shrimp starter on a black bean mousse with wasabi. Heavenly. Only drawback: They serve menus only (3, 4, 5, 6 course-menus to choose from), so be prepared to spend a minimum of 32 euros on your food. But then again, those are 32 euros well spent. Their selection of wine seems superb too and the hostess is very capable in recommending a fine choice.

my personal favorite place to get wiener schnitzel.

the atmosphere is quite wonderful. only drawback: it gets real busy in the evening hours with artsy types. I prefer the early evening Schnitzel with beer and only a few quiet people doing either the same or are just reading the newspaper.

A passionate bicyclists myself and somewhat knowledgeable when it comes to fixing my beloved vintage road bike, finding a good bike store is crucial.

The Coop is right across from my home, so an obvious choice, but boy! do i dread going in there each time. I am not criticizing what they have to offer, it's actually quite decent, but the staff really is not very helpful and has the most annoying attitude. I was almost denied to buy a part (!) as the man behind the counter did not agree with me that this would fix the problem I had described to him. Just for the record: I was right and it DID fix the problem. The question is: what's wrong with being friendly and helpful rather than assumptious and arrogant? Resume: Think "High Fidelity" for bicycles.

a new favourite...

beautiful interior, simple, classy, another architecture-cuisine highlight, which - admit it - we all love. the cuisine has been fantastic. the selection is small, which I like, and we had pretty much everything on the menu and liked all of it. personal highlight: the vodka we had with the waiter, who was a very likable and welcoming character ;)

On the search for decent sushi in Vienna, I should have probably not started at the Naschmarkt, but hunger and desire couldn't wait, and Li's Cooking was just there, so in we went.

The staff was very friendly and started us off with a little treat on the house (2 pieces of Maki with tempura shrimp, avocado and salmon in a mango sauce. nice) However, a good place to start when judging japanese/pan-asian cuisine is always the Miso Soup, I think. It was decent, but far from home-made. I got the small sushi set (4 pc of salmon - good, 2 pc of tuna/bonito - good, 2 pc of butterfish - nice), it was alright, not exceptional. The wasabi was nice and fluffy. The California Roll however was big disappointment: it was cold and could have might as well stemmed from a supermarket shelf. The rice was not fresh and of course the less than mediocre avocado killed the experience entirely. I am not saying, I wouldn't return to Li's, but probably not for the sushi experience.

I visited this place with great hopes and expectations: I love the idea of a vegetarian Gasthaus.

It's about time! However, I can't say I was blown away at all. We were there for lunch, which might not be as representative as dinner, as I read in other reviews. The choices were Veggie Schnitzel or Celery Schnitzel. Both I like, no question about it, but I'd like to see more... well, creativity. There sure are quite a few options in Austrian cuisine to go vegetarian and THAT I'd like to see cultivated. The lunch menu was also a bit pricey and did not include soup, which for reasons of competition, I'd advise against. I understand that eating organic has its price but I'd sure like to see it as something less elitist, if I may say so. I'd love to see this place improve and I'll be a regular, promise.

This is a cozy little place, tucked away from busy Mariahilfer Str.

While the food was good, as all places serving "organic" food, it is a bit pricey for lunch (8.50) and they refuse to serve tab water, which in Vienna is a bit ridiculous and not so very sustainable, given that you make me purchase bottled water. Also, the staff are old school smokers, and the only ones in the restaurant that still do. But otherwise a fine place and I very much enjoyed the dessert - an eggless chocolate cake.

this place is an absolute gem.

some of the finest pho I've ever had. the noodles are fresh-made, the broth is delicious. I have also had a rice dish there which was equally excellent. highly recommended!

I had both Sushi and Korean food at this place and as always, I think you're better off with Korean.

Vienna just doesn't have the resources for good Sushi, let's face it. The atmosphere was really nice, until the super drunk owner of Pontoni came in being his obnoxious self. We quickly paid and the hostess treated us to a free beer of Kirin for our way home to make up for the disturbance. now THAT is nice.

Just recently tried their lunch menu.

The food was excellent (all organic) and both the chicken soup as well as the cauliflower were simple, yet delicious. We appreciated the decor of edible flowers, and also their bread seems to be quite a hit with not just us (loafs are now on sale). I can't recommend their Gruener Veltliner, and I thought the staff was a bit odd. It felt like conversations stopped as we walked in (which always warms your heart, doesn't it?). However, I would go back, even though 8 Euro is on the high end of a Mittagsmenu.

perfect little place to discover new wines with very dedicated and knowledgeable staff.

antipasti are also served. the bar is an old Naber Kaffee and kept that style which makes it a charming spot to end a day with a glass of wine or 3.
