hmmmm...

2009 and they decided now to charge ONE euro for a glass of tap water! that's a major frechheit if you ask me; but the food is still brilliant, so i reduce only from five to four stars

the pizzas really taste like in a good italian restaurant in the toscana.

this might be because the place is actually run by italians and not by egypts, turks or chinese...

the only downsides are that they:

a) don't deliver.

b) have only a small non smoking area.

but still... wonderful.

Best you can get in Vienna and this is why I gave five stars. No frills, no Bobo factor just excellent food and wine.

The service can be grumpy and it gets quite crowded, but the pizzas are awesome and the rest of the menu, which changes seasonally, is solid to excellent.

Hits include the pizza pecorina, with chunks of aged pecorino toscana atop a perfectly-cooked, perfectly handled pizza crust. Bisteca Fiorentina cooked in the mouth of the wood-fired oven is a rare (literally) treat.

As yet, there is no "non-smoking" room and this place gets quite "geraucht", so it is a bit of a bummer.
