But expensive but nice selection, people working there know what they are speaking about. And very important the only place where you can get INTRO (www.intro.de) in vienna :-)

Expensive, but generally good selection. They don't act weird in case you're blind and can't find what you're looking for on your own ;)

Substance is by all means my favorite record store. Why? Because they have everything. And what they don't have they can get for you. Example: Gavin Bryars - Sinking of the Titanic, of which the EMI-store on Kärntner Strasse said "not available anymore, sorry." Substance searched and ordered and I had it within a week. Moreover they don't have any dogmas about music. From avantgarde jazz to electronica and from alternative rock to rap, if it is good, they'll have it.

a good indie and noise rock record store. kind of pricey but very good selection.

great place to hang out and listen to nice music. they have their own beer!! just ask for it...

The folks at Substance know their indie rock, which means you can trust them when you're in need of the newest vinyl from the US, or the latest Burn to Shine DVD. Their prices aren't always the best, which is a negative, but their sale bins always has a gem or three if you're willing to look hard enough.
