Zum Roten Elefanten Reviews (9)
I like the private atmosphere there, espacially in the non-smoking area.
Very friendly staff. They love food.
A good choice for business lunch!
Coming back after a week in Southern France, I had started to miss their style of dining: Pay ~20EUR in a small and unpretentious restaurant for a three-course meal where you can pick from wonderful food for each course.
This is what I got in Zum roten Elefanten, too.
There's gorgeous food there. Also, great service. Extreme proximity to Gumpendorfer Strasse means you should sit inside: traffic can get a bit loud.
Tiny, impeccably run gem of a restaurant.
Menu changes weekly (daily even?) and you get a choice of about 3 starters, 3 main courses and 3 deserts to choose from. Not cheap but so tastefully, creatively and lovingly done that it's worth every cent. Great choice of wines, let some suggest a few options.
Reservations essential!
great food where no drop of oil is spilled.
if you ever chose to eat polenta there, make sure you do exercise afterwards and skip desert. it will keep hunger away for days.
other than that oysters, schilcher sturm, excellent desserts...
very nice and unpretantious.
the menu is very small and changes every week. excellent wines and coffee. the food is fantastic. very nice staff.
