The Communist's Daughter - (4/5)

This tiny watering hole is named after a Neutral Milk Hotel. There's a sign in front that says Nazzare's Snackbar, but it's definitely The Communist's Daughter. It's tiny, it's got several kinds of beer and liquor, a stellar jukebox, a pickled egg jar, and it has a bartender who looks a bit like Lenin. What more do you need, Comrade? One of the best bars in my opinion.

Magic Pony - (4/5)

It's a gallery, a store and a fun place to wander around in when you want to look at cute figures, cool books and urban street art. They have apparel, design books, posters and artwork that is a bit too pricey for me, but be sure to gawk at the installations in the back gallery. Check out the Masters of the Universe Charity Silent Art Auction & Exhibit by Save by Art happening March 29-31, 2007.

Moonbeam Cafe - (5/5)

This is my favourite cafe in Kensington. Tucked away on St. Andrew, it's the perfect place to relax after checking out the vintage stores on Kensington. They serve organic fair trade coffee, vegan delights and carry a large assortment of loose teas. There's also a sweet little patio out back so you can enjoy your coffee outside in the summer.
