Herr und Frau Klein - (5/5)

Two weeks ago Herr und Frau Klein moved to the other side of the street, where the video store used to be. They now have a big shop with more space for all their great products. Not having kids myself, I almost feel tempted to have one so that I can buy lots of the cool, unconvential children's clothes, toys and kid's furniture they have.
The people working in the shop are very friendly, offer practical tips and professional advice, and give the customer the opportunity to have a good, undisturbed look around. The little kids can run around a play with some of the toys, and the parents can even chance their dypers.
This shop is perfect for anyone who does not want the usual kid's stuff, is in need of good advice and is willing to pay a bit extra for high quality/fair trade products.

Was there about two weeks ago. I did not know the place had been taken over, and had not checked the menu since I simply wanted a melange. Was still expensive, but tasted good. Place was almost empty though, and somehow I felt the waiter was sort of over-acting being polite and helpful. Felt awkward.

Had a going-away-party this evening at this restaurant. I did not have a pizza, but chose a tomato salad with fresh basil and a spaghetti with garlic, peppers and parsley. The spaghetti was nice, the salad fresh. To me though, I Terroni and I Caruso are still the best Italian restaurants in Vienna. Apart from the food being really, really tasty (both pizza's and pasta's), I like the style of the restaurants plus the service better.

Been coming to this Chinese restaurant since I was a little child. It is the best Chinese I have ever been: the taste is authentic and nothing like the standard Chinese food every one knows.
Downside: they serve you very fast and seem to want you out of there asap so they can have new costumers. So if you want a nice, long, romantic dinner, don't go to Fat Kee. If you want great Chinese food, it's the place to be.

If you like very, very hot sambal, order some backed sambal to go with your food!
They have take away, but it is not recommended: for some reason it never tastes as good as when you eat in the restaurant.

If you like underwear, but not the super sexy stuff like Valisere or Lise Charmel, come and have a look at the Skiny Shop in the Donauzentrum (U1, Kagran).

Skiny is an Austrian label and has good quality underwear for men, women and children. Their basic colours are black, white and skin colour. For every season they have temporary colours in their selection though.

It's young, reasonably priced fashion, with cute and sporty looking sets, and the personnel is very friendly, me included :)

After many months of passing by this restaurant on my way home from work, today I finally had the opportunity to have lunch here with my friend. The place looks trendy, a bit nihilistic style and is always filled with people.

For each day the restaurant has a fixed Mittagsmenu. For the evening they have a menukarte with different choices.
We had a melanzani/zucchini lasagne on a salad and a desert which was some sort of chocolate and biscuit 'roulade'.
The lasange existed of 2 small pieces and was almost cold. Their was a long black hair on the plate of my friend. The taste of the lasagne was nice though (therefore the 1 star rating). The desert was a small slice of cake. It tasted dryish and uninteresting.

We payed 14 euro for this, including a mineral water and a limonade. We decided to never go here again and later had a wonderful tiramisu (for we were still hungry ofcourse) at I Terroni :)

The restaurant does not exist anymore :)

Had the daily lunch menu today, which was quite tasty. You get a small miso soup as a starter, which was the best miso soup I have had so far. As a main dish, you can choose between two possibilities. I had the Thai Wok with rice, which was good as well. You can add the spiceyness yourself.
Nice atmosphere with cool Asian comic drawings on the wall, friendly waitresses and fair prices (less than 7 euro for the daily lunch menu). Am looking forward to trying out their maki and sushi.

Lovely Italian restaurant in the nice 19th district of Vienna. Friendly waiters and very good food: I can recommend the cannelloni with spinach and goat cheese (vegitarian).
With warm weather, you can sit outside in the gardun under the chestnut trees. Brought a lovely collection of chestnuts back home. But: bring a hat if you sit in the garden in autumn :)

I think this restaurant is actually called Pars, but on Herold.at it is under the name Sasani & Mohsenzadeh...

It is a Persian restaurant with the best humus I have ever had (apart from the humus you can get on the greek island Santorini). My friend and I had different stew as a main dish, which we were not too enthusiastic about. The taste was new to us and we had to get used to it. I still do not know if I liked it or not.
There are a couple of vegitarian dishes on the menu (nothing vegan, maybe some starters though).
Waiters are very friendly, the restaurant itself looks very nice and is not that big. They have a few tables outside on the street when the weather allows to sit outside. Prices are good.
Will try another main dish sometime, maybe from the grill. But for the humus I will come back for sure, jummie!

Ofcourse, after reading this, I had to have a look inside this small shop. If you want to buy an original gift for a friend (or for yourself like I did today), this is the place to be.
It has recently been opened. You can find cool bags here, T-shirts, accessories and funny jewelry. The artist uses tiny fotographs in her products that she has made herself, combined with other funny little objects, which give the products a very original and happy look.

I will come back for a bag for sure!

If you are a coffee lover, go to this cafe/bar near Naschmarkt. The Mocca Club is quite big and has an Oriental/North African atmosphere, a bit Lounge-like, with comfortable couches to hang out and relax. The menu contains lots of different flavoured coffees from all over the world to choose from. For the vegan coffee lover: if my memory serves me right, I remember to have read they offer the possibility to use sojamilk.

My colleague had a coffee with chocolate sauce, which was delicious. Since I, unfortunately, can't drink coffee, I chose a hot chocolate called Elfenbeinkueste. It was the most wonderful hot chocolate I've ever had!

Check it out dudes!
