Katsu Sushi Japanese Restaurant - (3/5)

My first exposure to sushi took place at Katsu. It wasn't spectacular, but good enough that I tried other places and became addicted to the stuff.

I've been back to Katus a few times for the "All You Can Eat" menu. The best comment I can make is that it's never been bad. The quality is inconsistent, ranging from fair to very good, but never quite excellent. It is reasonably priced.

Formerly in the Carrot Common on the north side of Danforth, the current location on the opposite side of the street opened in 2006. Unfortunately they seem to have left behind what made them a great choice for "All You Can Eat" sushi. Now it is barely gets a passing grade. The low price is the only enticement now.

A quiet neighbourhood spot with friendly service.

They've recently added an "All You Can Eat" menu, but I haven't tried it yet.

Tucker's Marketplace Restaurant - (3/5)

Their slogan is: "Here's your plate. Go crazy!" and a lot of people take it very seriously.

I've gone a few times for weekend brunch. The food is passable, but nothing special. As customary for buffets, there's lots to choose from. Sometimes you have to wait for popular items to be replenished. The service at the custom pancake/omelette station can be slow.

It's a reasonable value for your money. Just go when you're hungry and don't have high expectations.

Tulip Steak House - (5/5)

Although biiled as a steak house, don't expect The Tulip to resemble any other such establishment. It's really a diner, but one that serves better steaks than you'd expect from a diner.

I always go for the steak and eggs on the "All Day Breakfast" menu (which you need to ask for if its outside breakfast hours). I don't know exactly what kind of steak it is, but I've never had better for under $15.

The taco combo wasn't anything special, but the enchiladas were tasty. Service was good.
