Cafe Brazil - (4/5)

Cafe Brazil is a very unique spot off the beaten path. I had the Camarao com Cachacha and it was superb. The wine list compliments the menu perfectly. The ambiance is cozy and special without feeling stuffy. Lastly, the owners are warm and welcoming and the service was stellar.

Santiago's - (4/5)

I'd like to consider myself somewhat of a breakfast burrito connoisseur. I've tried all kinds of breakfast burritos from all types of joints all around town. And I can tell you that a Santiago's BB is the way to go. First of all, they're fast, friendly and a local chain (numerous locations around town). Second of all, the tasty burritos are 2 bucks each. Lastly, order it "half 'n' half". Which means half hot, half mild. Perfecto.

I'd love to elaborate on the rest of their menu but honestly, I haven't gotten past breakfast. If you're going to order a bunch, call and give them a heads up or you'll be waiting awhile. Two things to keep in mind: They aren't open on Sundays (for now) and cash is king.

Fancy Tiger - (4/5)

Very unique clothing, jewels, music and other items for guys and girls. Lots of "how do" and DIY books and patterns. They also offer classes to learn how to sew and create certain items but also workshops where you can learn how to open your own boutique. Downstairs there is a great collection of vintage items, anything from a pimped out bar to lovely lacy kitchen aprons.

Fruition - (4/5)

Such a charming spot! A warm setting with a cozy and romantic layout. The host/owner of the restaurant was so very polite and charming. He was welcoming and personable, something I find rare when dining in Denver. The wine list was unique, there was a lot on there I had never heard of. We had a bottle of Cab, the Hurricane from Oregon. Order the Oysters Rockafeller as one of your appetizers, you won't be sorry. I had the beef culotte and it was superb. My date had the pork tenderloin. We both cleaned our plates. The portions were perfect and the service was great. I highly recommend this lovely restaurant. The only reason I shy away from giving it 5 stars was because the desert menu left a little to be desired. Although, I'm pretty picky about my sweets so I'm sure the deserts were phenomenal.

This is easily one of my favorite restaurants in Denver. Order LS-1 and then have a Ca Phe Sua Da (Vietnamese iced coffee with sweetened milk).

Mayan Theater - (4/5)

It's a theatre, that features independent movies and also features a bar. Can't beat that. I had sworn off movie theatres all together and stuck to my netflix until being introduced to the Landmark Theatres (includes Chez Artiste and the Esquire). People are there because they really want to see the flick, so there are never any obnoxious 7th graders waiting to ruin your night. The last movie I saw there was Pans Labrynth, which I also highly recommend.

Metropolis Coffee - (3/5)

I'm partial to this spot for it's location and vibe. Good tea selection and they don't burn the coffee... which, is key. It's wireless equipt and feels like someone's living room or library. The staff is more than friendly. One watch-out is they don't accept credit cards so make sure you have cash on you.

Golden Thai Restaurant - (4/5)

Such a lovely spot. My friend and I shared the spicy calamari to start and it was superb. Really hot goodness. I had the cashew chicken and it was some of the best I've ever had. Lots of chicken and all my favorite veggies in a medium sauce. The wine list left a little to be desired, you could only order the house wine by the glass and my friend was drinking beer, so instead of killing an entire bottle of what I wanted (danger) I stuck to the house wine. I Highly recommend this spot.
