Very good Szechuan restaurant. Popular with Chinese locals and tourists, which is a good sign. Service can be a bit slow, but everything seems fresh so it is worth waiting. Some dishes can be glutinous and a bit heavy on the oil. Excellent by Austrian standards, reservations recommended.
As with all Szechuan, the food can be deceptively spicy, especially the morning after. The expression "arse like a bullet wound" springs to mind. Not the best place to go the night before a big meeting.
There may be others, but from what I have experienced, this is the only good Chinese restaurant in Vienna. Delicious and mostly very authentic. Heavily focused on Szechuan, which is my favorite!
Actually, this is the most authentic Szechuanese cuisine you will find in Austria. Very nice family-run restaurant, which means that sometimes orders can take a bit longer.
They will tone down the dishes in terms of spices in case you can't handle the real Szechuan pep.
Make sure you try the dan-dan-mian and the gan-bian-niu-rou.
One of the best (if not THE best) Chinese restaurants in town. Food is authentic, there are actually Chinese people eating inside, enough said.
