Updated review: This place broke off from the chain. While I applaud the move to go "indie", the bagel quality has suffered. Where once upon a time one could hope for bagels approaching standard NYC level, the bagels are now uniformly too "cake-like" (i.e. too spongy and soft).
Still, everything is handmade in the shop, the coffee can be okay, and even though it is now a more disheveled and erratic affair, you'll find me here at least twice per month for a weekend bagel fix. Sorry if we take your seats.
wenig ambiente vorhanden, new yorker charme funktioniert in wien einfach nicht so.
aber die bagles sind lecker und all die specials, die man sich so drautun lassen kann, sind toll.
Bagels are not bad. Could be better, but four stars just because I can't give three-and-a-half.
bagel station is okay, if you like a wurstsemmel with vinegar and pesto.
i prefer the "blueorange" though, they got really great bagels.
As far as Bagels go: there really aren't too many alternatives in Vienna. Matt from NY thinks they suck, but so does Wiener Schnitzel in Saigon.
Prices are Na Servas! but there's a huge variety, the ingredients seem fresh and the music is mostly below unnerving threshold.
Get a stamp for every coffee and/or bagel for freebies.
Yeah Bagelstation is nice, good soy latte and fresh vegetables. The bagle quality depends on who makes it for you, lately I miss a bit of love. I like if my food is made with love :).
The only bagels in Vienna that vaguely approach the quality of NYC bagels. In NYC, you'd think it was average, but in Vienna, it's a treasure.
It's true that the coffee can be good here. It's a crap shoot, though. Sometimes, it's not. Cafes/Restaurants in Vienna seem to forget that 1/3 of good coffee is the technique.
There's no really good seating here, only tall bar stools. However, the turnover is fast and one really wouldn't want to linger in here anyway because of its tiny size.

I come here a lot. Bagel quality is generally good: coffee quality is a different story. It depends on who makes it, but it CAN be excellent. (Full disclosure: I can count the number of places in Vienna that make coffee I like on one hand.)
I used to like it there, but somehow they started to suck a bit. It is a game of chance to get a decent bagel there these days. It highly depends on who makes it. Some of the staff really skimp on the spreads.
They do have excellent and fresh ingredients, that's for sure. Sometimes they just don't use them to their full effect :)

Bagel Station is Vienna's best spot for grabbing delicious bagel sandwiches, coffee and soups for takeaway. They are vegetarian and vegan friendly, even going so far as to make sure that their bagel dough is prepared vegan. Soy milk is available for delicious cafe lattes for an extra .50 cents. A bit small unfortunately, with seating room for around 20 people.
