Finally, late night vegan-friendly pizza on capitol hill. Open till 2amish during the week, open after 3am on weekends and it is right next to the Baltic Room, one of my favorite bars/venues. The place loudly advertises its vegan cheese option, which tastes pretty much like real cheese for the cheese-loving whiners who love to bitch about how lousy fake vegan cheese usually is.
The pizza is great, gourmet style, the service is a bit off in my personal opinion. So off that I'm reluctant to go back. The whole place is run and powered by an eccentric (italian?) guy named Juliano who told me once he has a karaoke machine just right behind the register (just in case I guess). however this is just a nice, humble, small, in-and-out pizza place although there is a little bit of seating. Maybe he just doesn't understand me when I've ordered but my order is often wrong and damn overpriced. I kind of feel like an ass when, well, I pay full price ($12ish) for half of a small pizza with no toppings. But I have a very picky friend who I introduced to this place and he thinks it's the best pizza ever and that I should just forget about the weird service I've gotten. Give it a try anyway and be very clear when you order.
