Cafe Griensteidl

das beste an diesem cafe ist, dass es zur gänze rauchfrei ist. seit dieser umstellung sieht man vermehrt eltern mit kindern dort!

For some reason I like to sit in the outside area watching the Fiaker and their horses that park nearby, only mildly deterred by the pretty hefty price tags on little things like "Soda Zitron'".
The food is pretty much Kaffeehaus standard, neither here nor there, ok I guess.

P.S.: In addition to Eiskaffee they also have Eisschokolade (Ice hot chocolate basically).

Not super cheap (hey, it's right next to the Hofburg), but one of the better traditional Viennese cafes around this neck of the woods. Their food is good (especially the Kaiserschmarren, yum) and their interior is not run-down like some other traditional cafes.
