While I'm not much one for "fancy-looking" places in general because, quite often, style will trump fashion and you'll end up on an uncomfortable seat, perched high above the midline. But this place has probably the best location in the 7th. Whenever I see this little square, which also has a few other restaurants and bars very nearby, it just seems to look exactly like a nice little urban Euro tableaux from my dreams.
I suppose the cocktails are the thing here, but I don't really drink them. As an "American" bar, that would be the supposed specialty. However, the outdoor area here is superlative for chilling out with a beer or sodazitrone and chatting the evening away. Streetcars cruising by only add to the vibe.
Perhaps too convenient location. Happy hour times and prices rock! (5-8 pm, 4,50 or so per cocktail)
A bit too snazzy/yuppie for my tastes, but the service is friendly and not too slow. Duh. Mais oui. Its tagline is 'American Bar' of course.
One of the few places yanks can put a semi-authentic bagel in their tummy. Its yummy too, you can snatch one up late. Not NYC by any means, but beggars can't be choosers, no? First place I had Absenthe in Wien. But no sugar or flames means I need to take a star away. Nice enough. Have a drink and strut yer stuff after getting your locks lopped off at GMB Haar across the street. Dim lighting may induce smooches. Boy waiters here are hotttttt.
