Li-Du definitely is something special if you are able to do more but merely scratch on its surface. Whilst looking like a standard Chinese restaurant like 1 gazillion others, the real deals are to be found off the menu, except for the tasty noodle soups:
Go for some genuine Taiwan styled Gun Bao (extremely hot due to - uncounted - 50+ chillies burnt to death).
Or choose the Li-Du's prime dish: noodle soup (with pork, duck or just veggies. Recently, a spicy beef soup has been added to the range of soups; just take a look at numbers 91 et sequ on the menu).
Or be brave and choose to just ask for the recommendation of the Li-Du's chief-waitress.
Li Du is some kind of tradition. I wouldn't say it has the best chinese food in Vienna, but the noodle soups are really decent as is all kind of food that is NOT on the menu. Just ask the waitress for something special!
I don't go to Li Du as much as Tobe, but I have had decent food and good service here.
Ok, here's the deal: this looks fairly standard chinese mafia style, but there's a lot of asian customers in the evenings.
Just don't order off the menu, unless it is Noodle Soup (our favourites: Duck and Pork)
Ask for current specials, the waitress speaks a little german but is very friendly.
Ordering Noodle Soup specifically without meat will result in a slightly cheaper vegan soup with lots of seasonal vegetables and tofu fake meat.
