While Trader Joes offers veggies/vegans/carnivores the best of the best of inexpensive, organic offerings, Rainbow, to my knowledge, is SF's only strictly Vegetarian supermarket. Yes, kids I did say 'supermarket'. This ain't no little spot on the corner, its a full fledged one-stop shop for it all snuggled between the inner mission and SOMA. And if memory serves right, they offer up just as much vegan delicacies as do they accommodate veggies. The best part? Its a worker-owned coop! Support your neighborhood cooperative and make your tummy happy at the same time!
