Schweizerhaus

Hey, it's touristy, it's huge, it pumps out mass quantities. But you can't deny the Budweiser here is some of the tastiest, and it's always nice to sit outside and drink. You *do* have to be careful about the bill, though. Those waiters are crafty and come with pre-poured beers when you're about 10% from finished. Willpower! Also, the Stelze is pretty great for the rare occasion when you want to eat, oh, a kilogram of pork knuckle.

zu touristisch, lange wartezeiten, fettiges essen. aber "typisch" wien.

This place is set up for high throughput more than anything else. The food is a cliche and not that great, but it is consistent and there's always a place to sit outside in summer.

Avoid at any cost. Unfriendly waiters, crap food, and theres always more beers on the bill than you've actually had. Been there twice, and I hate it.

Vienna doesn't usually do mass drinking establishments well, but this is one place to satisfy the visitor expecting a Munich-style experience in Austria's capital. Service is brusque but that's fine when you're sitting in the afternoon sunshine with a big beer.

I think fabbaz is right! This place is just overrated! but I like the beer! So I have to give 3 stars but only for the beer!

the not reasonable prices are only exceeded by the arrogance of the employees. it is understandable why so many people think it is representative to austrian and especially viennese culture. if you ever have the dire need to be ripped of and snapped up: t'is da place!

Massengastronomie, überbewertet.

also wer das schweizerhaus noch nicht kennt, der ist quasi verpflichtet da einmal hinzuschauen. wienerischer geht's nicht mehr: traditionelle küche, gepflegtes bier, riesiger gastgarten, schnelles service. der familienbetrieb der kolariks läßt kaum wünsche offen und vorher bzw, nachher lädt der wurstelprater zur unterhaltung. also hochschaubahn und riesenrad fahren gehen und dann gemütlich ins schweizerhaus!

an alle veganen: best kartoffelpuffer in town!
