Bymark - (5/5)

My fiancée and I have been to Bymark on several occasions. The level of service is fantastic, catering to any and all needs. The atmosphere is comforting and not at all claustrophobic, despite the dining room being six feet below street level. Lit mainly by warm, ambient light, the room has a sleek contemporary lounge feel to it. To top it all off, the food is incredible, though hardly a surprise given that chef/owner Mark McEwan is at it's helm.

A cozy, cool neighbourhood bar in Kensington Market. Great stuff on tap, a huge backroom that resembles a Northern Ont. cottage, and a huge patio for when the weather gets nice, makes this bar a great watering hole.

The Communist's Daughter - (4/5)

This tiny watering hole is named after a Neutral Milk Hotel. There's a sign in front that says Nazzare's Snackbar, but it's definitely The Communist's Daughter. It's tiny, it's got several kinds of beer and liquor, a stellar jukebox, a pickled egg jar, and it has a bartender who looks a bit like Lenin. What more do you need, Comrade? One of the best bars in my opinion.

Fresh on Bloor - (5/5)

from their website:

Imagine feasting on foods that please your taste buds while providing supreme fuel to energize your body and brain.

Dining, whether at home or at a restaurant, is the quintessential sensual experience, one that engages all five of our senses. How food looks, its texture and the way it feels in our mouths, the aroma and flavour of the food and lastly, the sounds we make eating, are the ultimate turn- ons. But what about how it feels in our bodies afterwards?

At Fresh we consider the healthful qualities as much as the flavour and presentation of each dish. How you feel when you get up after your meal is of paramount importance. We encourage you to get to know your body and its relationship to the foods you eat. No matter where you are on your path to better health you will find dining with us an enjoyable part of the journey.
