Left Feet - (2/5)

The guy who runs the place is definitely nice, and the idea is a good one, I'm happy the store exists... but I tried to buy a pair of 'Vegetarian Shoes' brand skate shoes, paid and was told I'd be phoned when they came in... MONTHS LATER after REPEATED calls and visits, I went in and told him to give me my money back. Then I just ordered them at a lower price off the same UK website he was using. So I'm left with a pretty bad impression. Still, I need new shoes soon, and there's a very good chance this'll be where I get them.

I really like the clothes here, quality products and very cool original designs. A little College Street on the wallet, though, if you get what I mean.

A quintessential Kensington vintage store. Prices range from very cheap to very not but all seem pretty fair. I fing the stuff well picked there and thankfully low in cheapo rasta wear. I also just discovered that they are a great source for vintage buttons.

Great used goods store, with a big variety of used clothing (men, women & kids), housewares, books, and lots of records at the back for $1.49 each (esp. good if you're into late 70s/early 80s vinyl... like I am...!). Friendly staff. Look out for their 1/2 price sales (they happen a few times a year).

An indie goods shop run by Toronto fashion guru, Nathalie-Roze Fischer. They have clothes and housewares and accessories and all kinds of lovely crap. Not the cheapest, but you are paying for independent labour. They also host a craft workshop series.
