Ok so the place itself isn't exactly nice lookin but honestly it's probably more authentically Mexican that way. Anyways, the food we had was really great; flavorful, plentiful and perfectly hot. Try the chicken with chili-chocolate sauce, it's really quite lovely!

Most likely the one and only place in town where you can get Cigköfte, a unique delicacy from eastern anatolia. Raw minced meat is mixed with an abundance of herbs and chilis spices, kneaded (by hand!) for a couple hours and then served with salad, chilis and lemon. It looks like pieces of play-dough and has an admittedly acquired taste (pretty damn hot, too!), but is hereby highly, highly recommended! Also try the Cigköfte Dürüm. They have expanded their selection considerably in the past few weeks but I haven't had a chance to try any of it. Yet.

Shoddy interiors, average food, not at all suitable for vegetarians. Service was relatively unfriendly when we were there, but the place was packed and they were stressed.
Oh and when I reserve well in advance I expect to get a good table, not the one in the corner by the coats and next to the bathroom entrance.

Man, the masses of cash I spent there back in the days. Anyways, no one comes close to these guys, go there for all your DnB, Dubstep, Grime and Breaks needs, accept no substitute!

Probably the only worthwhile place in the neighborhood and it's usually quite fine, although I have yet to eat anything really good there. Good for a beer or two on a warm summer evening.

I've been coming here for nearly 20 years and very little has changed, which is comforting in a way. Service is fine, can be a bit typically Viennese in the evening. Food is hit or miss, but the coffee and ambience cannot be beat.

What used to be a truly old-school Kaffeehaus is unfortunately still part of that execrable chain of low-cost, low-quality restaurants that are defacing the city. Why these are mentioned in pretty much all the guidebooks is beyond me. Anyways, if you want a true slice of Viennese Gasthaus life, go across the street to Wickerl.

Lovely place, wholly dedicated to Matcha (green) Tea. Aside from stock of various Teas and paraphernalia to prepare it (it's an art), they offer wonderful Matcha chewing gum, Matcha chocolate, Matcha-Lattes, Matcha-Smoothies and other unlikely creations. Try the Umeboshi-Onigiri, my personal favorite.
