the local burger king. good enough for a king freezie or a veggie burger but scares you out with the shitty music in no time.

a venue where a lot of indie rock shows take place. not my favorite but some amazing shows take place there. but when a show is sold out, it's almost unbearable.

independent cinema, showing all those movies you won't see at the cinema chains.
also a nice café and some shows now and then.
be sure to sit outside on the rathausplatz in the summer.

a rather new location. features a lot of different clubs and lots of shows.

well, not really a club. the ekh is vienna's biggest and most active squat. seen a lot of good shows there, only thing is that the shows at the ekh always start rather late and oftentimes it's an impossibility to get the last underground in time.

probably the best known club in vienna... yes, that means a lot of stupid folk hanging around. but there have been some very good shows and a big plus is that usually you know that you'll get to see the show from start to end AND get the last underground. can't stress that point enough

really awesome club for experimental music. nothing else to add.

infoshop in the ekh squat. used to be called infoladen10. lots of records, patches and informational material

kind of pricey but the falafels are very very good.

an independent recordstore not far from "haus des meeres". ok selection of vinyl and some fashion as well.
