ich freu' mich immer, wenn ich ein buch auf der UB zurück geben muss, denn dann gibt's ein köstliches getoastetes sandwich mit schafkäse/pesto, eine melange mit sojamilch oder ein erfrischendes smoothie und einen netten plausch mit werner. mein absoluter lieblingsort im umkreis der uni. -
war vor kurzem wieder dort, es war schon ziemlich spät, hab mich sehr anregend mit der kellnerin unterhalten, von der sich heraus stellte, dass sie geschichtestudentin ist und gerade ihre diplomarbeit schreibt. das zimteisfrappé, das ich getrunken habe, war köstlich wie immer. der nette kutschkerplatz an sich ist ja schon eine reise in die vorstadt wert :-)

When the pizzeria la mama with it's fine terraced garden in the outskirts of vienna has opened again you know that it is summer. Mediterranean food, mostly pizze, you can have them small or big, what is very big. Open only from april to the end of october and from 17h to 24h. -
the schoenbrunnerbad is my secret great love in vienna. if you go there in the morning you will be almost alone in the water, it will be fresh and clear and it will give you good vibrations and energy for the rest of the day....but the best of schoenbrunnerbad is that in hot summer nights you can swim there until 22pm with floodlight. every thursday at 7 pm they dance samba there, you can also dance or swim with samba music. there is also a nice restaurant, just try it.

I've hesitated to add my hideaway to the list because it is always so calm and peaceful. you can read there for hours or observe the people outside chasing the tramways 60, 10 or 58, the underground or all the different busses going into the depths of hietzing. it is a good thing to begin the day with a breakfast at wunderer with a frehsly squeezed carrot-apple-juice and "resch kaisersemmeln". as it is also a restaurant you get fresh menus there but my favourite is the traditional kärntner speciality "kasnudeln", which are some kind of round molded noodles filled with a mixture of potatos, cheese and mint, covered with brown butter and served with a firm salad. for me they serve the best ones in vienna.

shiho was formerly known as "green way". it's situated near university, so the prizes of the vegetarian menus (all organic!) are affordable. you can have your coffee also with soymilk. the selfmade vegan cakes of mrs. golab are admirable. she and her husband are academics from poland, convinced vegetarians and very affectionate. unfortunately they open only from monday to friday and from 11 to 16h.

hier gibt es eine sammlung der besten grüntees der welt und natürlich auch matcha. die besitzerin, die an sich schon ein kunstwerk ist, sitzt immer nachts über ihren büchern und öffnet auf leises klopfen. sie führt am sonntag um 6h30 in die japanische teezeremonie ein, die zum kulturschatz der welt gehört und die eigentlich jede/r einmal erleben sollte!Tags: grüntee teezeremonie
