Akakiko is everywhere, and their food is not the worst Asian in town. A big plus point is the excellent delivery service on wozukochen.at - very reliable and informative. I think the only place in town where you know who has prepared your meal, when it was despatched to your place, and what the mobile number of the delivery guy is.

The Drechsler is a legend in the Vienna coffee house scene. Its future seemed in doubt following the retirement of its long-time operator, but after a lengthy closure and re-design by Terence Conran it has once again opened its doors. While something has been lost in its translation to *wallpaper-dom, it's still unpretentious, the food (nicely presented traditional fare) has improved and it opens 23 hours a day!
Coté Sud is a gem. Small but beautiful, the food is lovingly prepared by the wonderful Patricia, who is always ready to suggest the perfect glass to accompany.

A reliable, friendly neo-Beisl in the Gumpendorf area. The chef prepares basic Austrian (in particular Vorarlberg) food with a twist. Wines are good and staff are friendly.

English-language cinema along the main shopping drag, very useful and very good. Following a refit is one of the more comfortable places to watch a film in the inner districts.
