this place is special to me for the simple reason that you can go there on short notice, with big groups.
most other places charge you either a fee for the room (up to couple hundred euros), or alternatively require you to pay the difference to a minimum amount of money that your guests have to consume, which again can go up in the hundreds of euros.
benno is different in that you tell them how many people you expect, and then have to give them an equal amount of euros - so for 20 guests, you give them 20 euros - and this money you get back if a decent amount of people actually do come.
if the event is even more short notice, e.g. on the same day, they don't care about the money at all anymore.
i could always get enough tables for a big party, even extremely short term, even for up to 60 people - something that's impossible with the bigger breweries of the town.
downsides:
- food is nothing special, maybe even bland
- if you have your party there, remember you can't choose your music. it's all just one music system, and they choose the songs.
