Orange Alert (formerly Mocca Choco) is run by some of the sweetest people I've ever met. They've made a big effort to offer 100% organic coffee, tea, and (in the summer) the most delicious lemonade I've ever had -- they make it fresh on the spot for you using organic lemons. Not cheap but worth it. Support your small local independent coffee house!

Thali! Dosas the size of my head!! And the staff are very friendly. The ambiance is what you make of it -- the artificial white lights and underground venue add a vague Blade Runner feel to the dining experience. It's all good!

One of my favourite places in Toronto. Great patio out back, really friendly staff. They can replace most meat on the menu with textured vegetable protein slices. The vegetarian souvlaki is really good (ask them to hold the tzatziki sauce if you're vegan).
Great used goods store, with a big variety of used clothing (men, women & kids), housewares, books, and lots of records at the back for $1.49 each (esp. good if you're into late 70s/early 80s vinyl... like I am...!). Friendly staff. Look out for their 1/2 price sales (they happen a few times a year).
The Toronto Vegetarian Association's Vegetarian Resource Centre is run by amazing, super-helpful volunteers. They're open on Mondays 6-9pm, Wednesdays 6-9pm, and Saturdays 1-4pm. Drop in and say hello!!
