This may start a fight, but I think these are the best rotis in town. I'm hooked on the chick peas!

Closed Courage My Love
14 Kensington Avenue
Toronto, ON M5T2J8

Reviewed 11. Feb 2007

A quintessential Kensington vintage store. Prices range from very cheap to very not but all seem pretty fair. I fing the stuff well picked there and thankfully low in cheapo rasta wear. I also just discovered that they are a great source for vintage buttons.

Toronto, ON M6R 1A9

A great breakfast place. Not the cheapest, but that have an impressive selection of benedicts, if you're into that kind of indulgence. They also have coffee strong enough to make me have panic attacks - stronger folks might appreciate that.

Closed Good Catch General Store
1556 Queen St W
Toronto, ON

Reviewed 05. Feb 2007

Well, I love this place. It's hard to understand how Toronto survived without a pirate-themed general store before they opened. They carry everything - beeswax candles, guitars, organic food, battery chargers...and the owners (Jola and Daniel) are always open to hearing about things you'd like them to stock. They also carry art and locally made craft goods and host a monthly craft fair. Arrr!

1015 Queen St E
Toronto, ON

Reviewed 05. Feb 2007

An indie goods shop run by Toronto fashion guru, Nathalie-Roze Fischer. They have clothes and housewares and accessories and all kinds of lovely crap. Not the cheapest, but you are paying for independent labour. They also host a craft workshop series.

Closed Pizza Memo
1407 Queen St W
Toronto, ON

Reviewed 05. Feb 2007

There's something comforting to me about this quicky pizza place. The people are nice and make conversation and remember me and smile. Sometimes the pizza tastes like bleach, though.

Closed Thai One On
14 Roncesvalles Ave
Toronto, ON M6R 2K3

Reviewed 28. May 2007

Nevermind the name, this is great Thai food at reasonable prices. I recommend eating there if you happen to be spending a lot of time at St. Joseph's Hospital. It's the best food around. And they are very good about accomodating dietary requests and keeping ingredients separate. Red curry!

The best indie/underground comic book shop in the world...maybe the universe.
