Great record and cd selection, good used sections. It's one of those places where you go and hear something played on their stereo and it sounds terrific and you wanna buy 5 copies of it. Nice and cool people working there, too! Bands play there sometimes, too, for free.

very old-fashionedy, air conditioned for hot summer days, and a solid choice for a classic cafe to visit, despite tourist-vibe. the eis kaffee is the bomb. yumm. love the ceilings.

Closed Cafe Einhorn
Joanelligasse 7

Cafe Einhorn is my favorite cafe in Vienna. Cozy and beautiful with old-fashioned orangey wallpaper, it's a perfect place to do a crossword by yourself while drinking some wine. The bartenders always play great great rock+roll, the atmosphere is very comfortable, the kaesetoast with ketchup is righteous. MMM. This place is a gem.

Closed Canvas Coffee Company
400 E Girard Ave
Philadelphia, PA 19125

Reviewed 01. Mar 2007

<P _extended="true">Canvas is one of the 2 coffeeshops in Fishtown. It has tons of delicious baked goods, great and strong coffee, and a good selection of sandwiches and salads. There are plenty of vegan and vegetarian options, too. Dogs are allowed inside. There are lots of newspapers to read for free. Only two complaints: it's such a small place that your clothes smell like a grill when you leave and it advertises itself as a cyber-cafe, but it only has one computer inside. There is free wireless, so you can bring your laptop, but the cyber-cafe-ness advertised on the sign is a little misleading. Overall, an awesome place to get food and coffee.

Cute place, lots of students/young vibe, good coffee. I've been there to see some friends play music and seems like a small and cramped place for that sort of thing, but overall, it's a gem.

Closed Hold
Josefstädter Straße 50
1080 Vienna

This is more like a little Italian lunch-restaurant than a cafe, but it's really nice. They have a daily special and the food is awesome, liked the atmosphere, too. You can drink your coffee standing up at the bar and order your salad custom-made. There's sidewalk-seating and the owner collects cool postcards, seems like a very nice dude. Had a really positive experience there. A little pricey, though, esp if you get wine w. lunch.

Closed Johnny Brenda's Tavern

Johnny Brenda's is our neighborhood bar in Fishtown. It's a cozy place to hang out, has great food and local beers, and the kitchen is open til late. They've just opened a new venue upstairs and it is killer. It is beautiful and there's a balcony overlooking the stage. Love this place.

wow, what a strange and cool restaurant. hard to miss, with its massively giant statue of jesus in front! didn't have any food, but looked like they had lots of veg options. was nice to sit outside, but i think the interior is very lovely and old, especially the stained glass in the ceiling of the tower! loved it, a random gem that should not be missed, esp if you've been hanging out at the graveyard all day and are hungry and thirsty!!
