This is the best place on Earth. My first night there, I drank Belgian beer, Australian wine, ate gourmet cheeses from mysterious animals, listened to a white man sing the blues, danced with a hound-dog, and flirted up a pair of beautiful women.
A great, beach-side restaurant with outdoor seating so close to the water you can feel the mist off the waves when the wind is right. Also one of the only US restaurants to serve Costa Rican Lizano salsa on tender pork loin wet burritos.
One of the best cafes anywhere, with local art on the walls, local musical talent on the weekends, and local Talent in general behind the counter.
Ask for Whitney, order a Tall Paul, and listen to the tunes ... maybe buy a painting right off the wall (hopefully one of mine, but as long as SOMEONE's getting rich out there, you know?).
Go there on a Friday or Saturday night with live music - you can't miss.
The coffee and atmosphere in this place are great - it's a bit Leftist for most, but if you don't see the irony in buying a Che Guevara t-shirt/messenger bag/etc. you probably won't notice, anyway (besides, the coffee is good enough to legitimately draw in W., Rummy, Dick Cheney, and the ghost of Nixon for a few sips).
Nice place with a good atmosphere and LOADS of local talent, you can bring dates to the separate dining room, drink more than you should at the HDTV bar (always at least one screen on SPEED), and enjoy great "bar food" with unique twists (gorgonzola fries, teriyaki beef tips, "frenched" yams, etc.).
Best part: live music, cheap food. Figure about 40USD for 4 people with a round of drinks.
3 star restaurant, 5 star bakery (comes out to 4 stars, you know?).
Good service, good coffee, GREAT croissants and one of the only places in South Florida to get authentic continental breakfasts with breads, meats, berries ... let's face it - those continentals really know how to live.
